Lüdenscheid, January 2019. The ERCO track: proven for decades - and unbeatably flexible and economical, even in the LED era, as an infrastructure for lighting. It is now also taking over modern offices, because Jilly luminaires for track offer efficient, standard-compliant lighting for workplaces. At the same time, they can be adapted to changing office layouts and usage scenarios more easily than any other office solution: not only due to tool-free mounting at any point on the track and options for individualisation, but also thanks to innovative technologies such as control via Bluetooth.
Unpretentious, modular and variable - such are modern multi-space offices. Their various zones offer possibilities ranging from concentrated work and intensive communication to relaxing breaks; the room systems can also be flexibly modified to changing needs. Illuminating such office spaces attractively, in a nuanced way and in conformity with standards is a challenge that conventional office luminaires fail to meet. In contrast, the combination of track as an economical infrastructure with simply positionable track luminaires is ideal: such installations enable users to respond at any time to changing conditions.
ERCO developed its new Jilly downlights for track precisely for such scenarios. They are part of an extensive product range for modern working environments, which in addition to track luminaires, also includes pendant luminaires as well as recessed and surface-mounted luminaires in a consistent design. If the office layout changes, the lighting concept now simply changes with it. Jilly luminaires for track can be realigned, moved or added to at any time without using tools. They are also optionally available with probably the most intuitive form of control: wireless via Bluetooth with the Casambi app modified specifically for ERCO. With Jilly for track applications, the lighting technology and control gear are accommodated in a compact and flat rectangular housing. Concise proportions and a striking grid optic lend Jilly a characteristic design and let the luminaires appear as a high quality technical detail in any surrounding.
With Jilly, ERCO has implemented innovative lighting technology: this consists of a highly efficient optical polymer lens system arranged in a grid and combined with Mid-power LEDs with particularly high luminous efficacy of over 140 lumens per watt. Two square modules, each with 5x5 cells, generate luminous flux values of 2,000 lumens in the track luminaires with a system consumption of just 13 watts.
Lighting designers can select between two light distributions: oval wide flood and extra wide flood. The axially symmetric oval wide flood distribution can be optimally aligned to the arrangement of the workstations, whilst rotationally symmetric extra wide flood ensures good uniformity, even with large and economical luminaire spacing. The lens optics in combination with the anti-dazzle louvre provide very good visual comfort, and with UGR<19 comply to standards for office workstations. Their glare-free vertical light component also generates high cylindrical illuminance at head height: as a result the faces of employees and discussion partners are illuminated in a pleasant and easily recognisable way which in turn supports effortless communication in the office.
Jilly combines the three housing colours of black, white and silver with highly specular silver or matt black anti-dazzle louvres to create a wide range of different styles. As part of 'ERCO individual', individual housing colours and louvre surfaces are also possible, e.g. gold, champagne and copper. This allows the appearance of the luminaires to be precisely matched to even the most unusual design concepts.
ERCO offers six different light colours from warm white to neutral white for Jilly downlights, namely 3000K and 4000K (Ra 82) and 2700K, 3000K, 3500K and 4000K (Ra 92). As an alternative to the above-mentioned Casambi control gear, the luminaires are also available as both switchable and phase dimmable with a potentiometer on the housing, or with DALI control gear. For office projects with a focus on individuality, flexibility and adaptability, the versatile Jilly downlights for track represent a thoroughly future-proof product solution.
